NSString *explosionPath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"Explosion" ofType:@"sks"];
SKEmitterNode *explosion = [NSKeyedUnarchiver unarchiveObjectWithFile:explosionPath];
explosion.position = position;
[self addChild:explosion];
[explosion runAction:[SKAction waitForDuration:2.0] completion:^{

22,979 PointsTry adding a zPosition to your explosion, i think it's just stuck behind your background on the z-axis..
here's my code - i put a lot of spaces behind the zPosition to show it
not sure if this is the right way to fix this issue, but it fixed it for me.
NSString *explosionPath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"Explosion" ofType:@"sks"];
SKEmitterNode *explosion = [NSKeyedUnarchiver unarchiveObjectWithFile:explosionPath];
///z position modification here..
explosion.zPosition = 1;
explosion.position = position;
[self addChild:explosion];
[explosion runAction:[SKAction waitForDuration:2.0] completion:^{
[explosion removeFromParent];
}];
}```
