General Discussion

My first website is live, thanks Treehouse!

This isn't exactly a question, except that I'm looking for feedback if anyone has it.

I started using Treehouse on and off about 1 year ago to learn HTML, CSS, and a little JavaScript. I knew next to nothing about any of these topics at the time. Last month I released my very own website based on everything I've learned at Treehouse and wanted to share it, especially if people reading this are new and uncertain about what they can do with these courses.

It's a backpacking and hiking site: http://trailove.com/

The Treehouse courses gave me enough direction to try things out on my own, and I searched the community forums all the time for tips (for example the best photo gallery scripts & map applications).

So thanks!

That's a really nice first site. Good job. :)

One minor critique, It feels a little clunky having to click the text in the photo after chosing a selection from the "John Muir Trail Favorite Gear LA Day Hikes High Sierra Trail" menu. It seems like it would feel more natural if those items simply opened the page when clicked

Excellent job! Looks great

Hey Sarah,

Just took a quick look around the site and wanted to say it was impressive. Keep up the great work, it's an excellent first project!

Hey,

Awesome job Sarah. May I ask what languages did you use to build the website?

Thanks Elena! I used HTML and CSS with a tiny bit of JavaScript. I learned everything from Treehosue

Excellent first project. Keep it up.
