Well it is Possible that you are Writing everything Correctly but before starting you Forgot to attach the PlayerMovement Script to the PlayerMovement Component... If so just Click on the Player Prefab in the Heirarchy Window, the in the inspector window just Drag the PlayerMovement Script to the Player Movement Component and Save it.. Then try running it.
