JavaScript

My printMessage only prints the message with the variable names and NOT the actual variables.

When entering:

//Function to print message to console function printMessage(username, badgeCount, points) { const message = '$(username) has $(badgeCount) total badge(s) and $(points) points in Javascript'; console.log(message); }

printMessage("zbanx", 100, 2000000);

my output is:

treehouse:~/workspace$ node app.js
$(username) has $(badgeCount) total badge(s) and $(points) points in Javascript

String interpolation requires you to use a template string, not a regular string. Template strings start and end with the ` (back-tick) symbol rather than a quote like a regular string.

Also you have to use { and } (curly brackets) for the interpolation like ${VARIABLE} not parenthesis.

Like this:

//Function to print message to console
function printMessage(username, badgeCount, points) {
  const message = `${username} has ${badgeCount} total badge(s) and ${points} points in Javascript`;
  console.log(message);
}

Thank you Andren. I thought that single quote mark looked funny LOL. Thank so much!!
