i thought that would be that answer but im completely lost

your answer is almost correct. instead of the dot just put a '-' in place of that. && also whenever declaring a method inside of the implementation or .m file you want to follow it wit a pair of {} instead of a semicolon.

Assume we are creating an app to display random quotes. So far our app has a label and a button that have been added to the view. We need to create an 'IBAction' for our button. Please define a method called 'buttonPressed' and make sure it returns an 'IBAction'.
