Need some advice on what courses to start first

I'm trying to learn some web development such as html, CSS, javascript php.

I'm not a coder at all I mostly work with Word press and build sites using Wordpresss. I already know the basics of Wordpress I took that course and skipt the first few parts of it I want to learn how to build themes and plugins can i skip to that part or do I need to finish the whole course?

Should I start with the web dev course first where nick teaches you html, css etc not sure where I should go first. Also are u allowed to take notes while the instructor is talking in the video or does that defeat the whole code challenge thing. Sorry for all the questions just trying to find my way around here. Wonderful site! the teachers really know their stuff.

I would start with "How to build a simple webpage" :)

Hey Dmitry,

Try going with the Front-End Web Development Track: http://teamtreehouse.com/tracks/front-end-web-development

You will get a basic introduction to HTML and CSS and then build upon more complicated web development techniques from there. And you should feel free to take notes, follow along, or whatever works best for you. The goal is to learn, so however you learn best, that's the best way! Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips bobby. I'll start with with front end development :).

One more question. Should I download a text editor like sublime to write code with or do we mainly use the work space for that.

For the beginning, workspaces will do it. I'm not sure as the track will go on, since I'm doing another track atm..

PS: As you will need a texteditor sooner or later, I would pick one up anyway - I can recommend Notepad++ ;)
