normalize.css does not work, as well as main.css

Hello,

The normalize.css is supposed to remove the bullets from the ul elements as explained in the lecture, but including the normalie.css did not change anything in the way the page looks like as far as I can tell. Now I added main.css and it has no affect as well.

Thanks!

It's going to be easiest to help you with your problem if we can see a snapshot of your workspace. Don't worry, this will not allow us to change your code! It will allow us to make a copy of it and look through the file/directory structure as it is right now.

Hi there, Oren Yehezkely! It's important to note that Jason Anders is not Treehouse staff. He's a moderator on the forums and he's here to make sure we all behave ourselves while posting in the community. He is, in fact, a student just like you or I (except that he has an outrageous number of points here on Treehouse).

I really want to help you troubleshoot this, but I really am going to need to see a snapshot of your workspace. In the first comment I left you can find instructions on how to do this. But I'm also going to write them here. If you look at the upper right hand side of your workspace you'll see a camera icon. Click this then click create new snapshot. From there, click the snapshot that you just made. When the new window or tab opens copy and paste the URL in there to us so we can take a look.

But let's also check some basic things. Are you positive you've saved your files? Have you refreshed your browser? Have you tried viewing them in another browser? Have you tried clearing your browser cache?

Again, this is going to be easiest to troubleshoot if we can have a snapshot. :sparkles:

Hey Oren,

Actually, the latest version of Normalize.css no longer affects list elements; therefore, it will not remove the bullet points put there by the browser. (Technology is constantly changing, thus the variation from the video to actual result)

Where you are in the course, it's still normal to see the bullet points. Soon, Nick will show you the CSS rules needed to remove them in your main.css file.

Keep Coding! :)

Thanks Jason. I assume that you are with Treehouse (because it is not easy to know who is answering. Whether it is a colleague or an employee of Treehouse).

It is a bit confusing to learn that things do not work as they are supposed to, in the class. Why don't you fix it??

You did not answer why the main.css is not working either? Is there a problem in the workspace and it is the reason that it does not work?

Thanks, Oren

Well it certainly does look like there is a problem with the workspace. I was able to see the changes I made to main.css several hours back. But changes made just now are not showing. Is there any threshold or specific wait time? Thanks, Oren

Jennifer,

I really appreciate your willing to help. However, I did not mean to bother any student. I am trying to address Treehouse staff, and get them to fix some bugs and flaws they have. The most outrageous flaw is that they make my support tickets public without my consent or even my knowledge.

Thanks again!

Well, you're certainly no bother! If you look down on the lower left hand side of the website here, you'll see a question mark. That will lead you to a place where you can contact support. Here is Treehouse's own description of the Community forums:

"If you need help with something not answered below, check out the Community. It's an active, helpful community of fellow Treehouse students."

So when you post a question here, you are posting to students. If you need to contact the staff directly, then you need to use the links on this page. https://teamtreehouse.com/support

I hope you get it worked out! :sparkles:

Thanks Jennifer.

This is misleading, but it is no accident. Obviously no fault of yours.

Thanks again.
