General Discussion

Not a question, merely a suggestion..

I am sure that this idea has been suggested again. In every programming language basics course that I have seen here in Treehouse every teacher states that you don't need a previous coding experience. And that is correct. But behind every successful programmer, or software engineer/developer there is a good, solid algorithmic background. The first step in order to learn how to code is to learn how to think algorithmically. So I believe it would be a good idea to introduce a new course or workshop with basic algorithms principles, data structures, binary trees, binary search, complexities and so on. I believe it would be extremely useful.

What a great idea. :+1:

I heartily second this proposal!

You're right, once you learn how to think like a developer, it's not too hard learning a new language. I can always look up the syntax quickly if I understand the underlining architecture. This would be a great course for beginners and advanced users alike.

I like the idea, I would definitely enroll in this track!

Excellent Idea. Would be very interested in a course like that!

If Jay Padzensky could maybe pass this along for us.
