Not quite sure why my answer isn't being accepted.

I have name = "jesse" as my variable. What could I be missing?

There cannot be a leading space. The code should start in the first position on the line.

Always make sure the indentation in your code line is set correctly, otherwise it will give you confusing syntax errors.
