im not quite sure how to correctly check the conditions

For starters you'll want to use the modulus operator, % instead of division. The modulus operator gives the remainder after division of one number. So the remainder of 3 divided by 2 is 1 (3%2 = 1). This is how you can check for if something is even or odd. If a number modulo 2 is not 0 then it is odd. You can do this to check if a number is divisible by another number as well. In other words 14%7 == 0, which means 14 is divisible by 7, because there is no remainder.

The rest of your code is correct.
