why not just add the cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryCheckMark since were already working within the 'didSelectRowAtIndexPath' method?

42,016 Pointsso you can remove a checkmark you already added. if you click it a checkmark gets added, if you click it again it gets taken away. The if statement is necessary. Without it you could only add checkmarks, not remove them if you wanted to
