Numbers and Strings

Hi, The error that Im getting is I am not Multiplying the width by the number of divs. also the error message NaN.

parseInt(width);
var numOfDivs = 10;
var  totalWidth = numOfDivs * width;

var width = '190px';

var numOfDivs = 10;

var totalWidth = numOfDivs * parseInt(width);

When you use "var totalWidth = numOfDivs * width;", width is still a string.

When you use parseInt(width) on your line 2 it doesn't assign that value to any variable.

Hi Shandale! Use parseInt in your new variable the totalWidth. You didn't save the parseInt value in the variable. So this value is NaN.

var totalWidth = parseInt(width) * numOfDivs;
