ok here is what I have done and for some reason I can't seem to get, my code is wrong.

my first trial:

func greeting(person: String) -> (String, String) { let language = "English" let greeting = "Hello (person)" let hello = (language, greeting) return hello }

my second trial:

func greeting(person: String) -> (String, String) { let language = "English" let greeting = ("Hello (person)", language) return greeting }

tuples.swift
func greeting(person: String) -> (String, String) {
    let language = "English"
    let greeting = "Hello \(person)"
    let hello = (language, greeting)
    return hello
}

Hi Dwight,

To get past task one:

  • When writing the return type portion of this particular function header, you will want to specify the names of the Strings (the instructions suggest greeting and language, so we'll do that.)
  • Also, this is optional, but you can remove the hello constant altogether (eliminating an extra line of code and having to add a new constant), and return language and greeting together instead.
func greeting(person: String) -> (language: String, greeting: String) {
    let language = "English"
    let greeting = "Hello \(person)"
    return (language, greeting)
}

Hope this helps!
