OOP First Morse Challenge...

I can not see why my code would not work. I keep getting try again. I also tried "for item in self" instead of pattern, neither work. Please help

morse.py
class Letter:
    def __init__(self, pattern=None):
        self.pattern = pattern

    def __str__(self):
        morse = []
        for item in patter:
            if item == '.':
                morse.append('dot')
            else:
                morse.append('dash')
        return '-'.join(morse)

class S(Letter):
    def __init__(self):
        pattern = ['.', '.', '.']
        super().__init__(pattern)

Yours is almost fine, but you need to make sure you are iterating over self.pattern. Currently you are iterating over a non existent variable there, other than that your code looks fine.

       for item in self.pattern:
