var initialScore = 8 initialScore = ++initialScore let totalScore = initialScore

in this code , initialScore = totalScore = 9 like question requirement but editor can't recognize it and instead recognize same code but with change in last line ( let totalScore = ++initialSore ) and that is not correct .

This is how I passed the first task of the challenge:

var initialScore = 8
let totalScore = ++initialScore

As a note, the unary operators (++ and --) will no longer be part of Swift as of the release of Swift 3.
