Android Build a Simple Android App (retired 2014) Pretty Little Things Animating the Answer

Order of Animations

Hi all,

I've noticed that playing around with the order of the methods changes things in a way I would not expect. For instance:

            animateCrystalBall();
            mAnswerLabel.setText(answer);
            animateAnswer();

Instead of:

            mAnswerLabel.setText(answer);
            animateCrystalBall();
            animateAnswer();

Makes it so the text is only animated for the first press of the button, but not the rest. Does anyone experience similar things? I would like to understand why this happens.
