Design UX Design Patterns (2018 Version) Persuasive Patterns Cognition

Persuasion design patterns: a sense of unease.

On the UX Design Patterns course, I like how most of the design patterns are about facilitating the viewer -- e.g., limiting options displayed to avoid overwhelming a visitor. But some of the patterns illustrated in the last video felt more manipulative, verging on dishonest, and I don't feel comfortable at the thought of using them. Any resources on the ethical element of selecting a design pattern?

Hi Michael,

Here is an article that can help designers to be ethical is design choices: https://uxplanet.org/design-ethics-vs-dark-side-ux-15a703870ec6?gi=b844bb5d5f95

Here is the new location link for the pattern tap resource: https://zurb.com/

I hope this helps.
