I use Brackets as my text editor. It has some very nice features and can easily edit many languages including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I also write PHP, Sass, and Twig with it. Best of all, it is free. Check it out at http://brackets.io.

With respect to having a functional test platform for PHP, you have to install a server emulator. I use XAMPP and have been very happy with it. It is an easy install for both Windows and Linux. I have used both.

You have to have the project in the htdocs folder in the XAMPP folder for it to work, but it is easy to do.

Ted can you explain in detail a,m failing to use the databse emulator, and bracket,am totally new to using this softwares
