Please bring back the C courses!

I remember learning C on Treehouse. I really want to learn it again, since I forgot how to use C, and I really want to learn it!

Where are the C courses? Did Treehouse remove them?!

Hi Alexander,

I'll copy some links below:

https://teamtreehouse.com/library/objectivec-basics-3 https://teamtreehouse.com/library/objectivec-basics-3 https://teamtreehouse.com/library/objectivec-for-swift-developers-2

There's probably more ... I just searched through the iOS courses.

Steve.

I'd really like treehouse to have a course on C++ as well as C since they're such powerful and widely used languages.

I've seen C# courses on here, never C++ or pure C. I've not used C directly for a long time! I used to write it all the time - I don't know how relevant it is to the current developer. C++ is a great language, largely covered off with C#, I think? My experience of using C++ pre-dates .NET, I am that old!, so my view isn't current.

:mailbox_with_mail: I got your message.

I don't think you learned "C" on Treehouse. Treehouse has never offered courses for C or C++, and doesn't seem likely to in the near future. While these languages are indeed widely used, they are not as common for web development where the Treehouse focus seems to be. There are many other resources to be found elsewhere on the Web for each of them, however.

This question comes up pretty regularly. My answer to the question asked about it just 3 days ago includes a bit of the history of similar questions.

The Objective-C Steve H. mentioned is a bit different from just plain "C", and is used almost exclusively for iOS. But Swift is quickly becoming the language of choice for iOS, so Objective-C may be on the way to obsolescence.

Guys, no, I'm not talking about Objective-C. I'm talking about plain old C (or C++ would also be nice).

Just a heads up :+1:

Apologies, I thought you meant Objective C. I've never seen pure C courses on here.

I can swear that I learned a teeny bit pure C on treehouse.

I found this badge in my badge list:

C course

Sorry, it didn't work for some reason. look here: http://imgur.com/a/sAVF8

(BTW, sorry for late response)

That badge is from the old version of "Objective-C Basics", and from a course stage that introduced a few concepts that are common to both C and Objective-C.

But there's never been a course here specifically about "C".

Oh, I see.
