Android Build an Interactive Story App User Input Finding Views by IDs

Please help

I have tried but can't make it, could you please help me with an example

MainActivity.java

import android.view.View;
import android.widget.Button;

public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity {

    protected Button exterminateButton;

    @Override
    public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
        super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
        setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);

  exterminateButton= findViewById (R.id.Button1  ) ;           
    }

Also, remember that letter case is important in Java. The ID you should use is button1 (lowercase)

So far you did it right, you just forgot to cast the button. Also, try to think about how you use spacing as it makes your code harder to read.
