Porting HTML5 media player into Flash

Hi Everyone,

I have a job request from a client that I would REALLY like some guidance on.

This is the job quote "We need to port an HTML5 media player into Flash. The html5 code is available so it's really just a function of translating it. You'd have roughly 4 weeks to do it. "

I am not too sure where to start. I do have some experience with Action Script and flash although I haven't touched it for around two years.

How hard is a job like this to complete? Do any of you know any sources that I can look at to learn how to do this?

Cheers!

No offense but why do they want this? This is the opposite of what the web is doing.

Exactly my thoughts.

My best guess is some kiosks in stores I know only support Flash. So they have already developed an HTML5 video but want to convert it to be kiosk friendly.

Just a guess though.. and I still have not found out a way to go about doing this

It's surprising a Kiosk would display flash but not a webpage.

Unfortunately I don't have any experience with Flash. But I would try to understand the problem they're actually trying to solve and maybe offer an alternative. It's possible they're asking for what they think is the solution.

You shouldn't have to port anything. Just use a media player that supports flash like this: http://www.videojs.com/.
