Preliminary Quiz

Hi, I just signed up for Treehouse, and I LOVE it! I have to say, I've taken web development courses in college, and this is far better than anything I've ever seen.

There is one feature I wish you had...

I'm an experienced web developer, and I want to sharpen up on my skills. It would be really handy if Treehouse could give me a quiz to see where my knowledge is at, and recommend courses for me.

Forgive me if someone already posted about this, or it already exists!

This is the first time I've heard it suggested. It sounds like an awesome idea.

As far as what courses you in particular should take ...

I think a lot of the value of Treehouse comes from their Deep Dives series, they help you fill in the things you didn't know that you didn't know.

For example, do you do a lot with JQuery & Ruby on Rails but maybe you want to brush up on your foundational knowledge of Ruby & JavaScript.

I'd say the one course you should certainly do is CSS Foundations 2nd Edition, it covers a lot of the changes in CSS in the past year (or two).

Hi John,

Firstly, WELCOME TO TREEHOUSE :DDD Have you seen the new Learning Adventures? The Treehouse Team has crafted these to help Students find a starting point :D

Learning Adventures are guided curriculums designed to help our Students learn a new skill or train them for a specific role. You can think of them like playlists created from our Projects and Deep Dives. Check it out here! :) http://teamtreehouse.com/library/learning-adventures

You don't have to follow the Learning Adventure if you don't want to. In fact, a number of Students just use the LA's as a reference point and skip certain courses that they're already experienced in order to learn quicker :)
