Bryan Valencia
Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 4,733 PointsPreparing for a Job at Blizzard: which TD should I take?
Hi, My name is Bryan and I've decided I will begin a tech degree once I return from Europe in a few weeks. My question is about which degree is more appropriate and some related things.
I know the exact job I want. http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/careers/posting.html?id=16000NH
It's a front end web development position at Blizzard Entertainment in Irvine, CA and it would be an absolute dream come true to be able to work there. I love Blizzard games from Wow to Hearthstone and recently Overwatch of course, I've linked the job description above.
Of course, I know that the job could be filled by the time I finish the certification or I could just not get the job etc... But this is the job that I'd love to get and that I'd like to prepare for.
What I would like to know is which tech degree would be better for me to pursue in light of this job? Should I do full stack JavaScript since I will learn some html and css (I already know some) and I feel that I would be more marketable. What I don't know is maybe the front end web development tech degree is just more appropriate and more suited.
Also, is there any possible way in the world I can get some sort of connection through Treehouse to Blizzard? Anyone hear of Treehouse helping to connect their students to jobs they look for?
Thanks for your help! Bryan Valencia

898 PointsHey Bryan
Looks like Front End and Full Stack JavaScript are the best Techdegrees to focus on . If you are already confident with Front End, take on the Full Stack Techdegree.
As far as introductions, once you have a portfolio of projects you're happy with, we certainly can help with our connections.

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 4,733 PointsThanks so much for replying! Do you think that pairing select CSS courses from the Front End track through the regular membership with the Full Stack JS TD would give what's needed? I have experience with CSS but I am rusty at this point though.
And as for connections, what kind of help do you mean?
Thanks again!

898 PointsPolishing up your CSS knowledge through the courses can work. Full Stack Techdegree would certainly give you the portfolio that you'd need.
Once you've complete your portfolio, I can give you some guidance on how to make connections.
