Maybe I'm not multiplying the right variables?
var wholesalePrice = 5.45;
var retailPrice = 9.99;
var quantity = 47;
quantity*retailPrice
var salesTotal = 469.53

11,246 PointsYou need to put that multiplying in salesTotal variable instead of 469.53.
var salesTotal = quantity* retailPrice;

28,558 PointsYour math is indeed fine. The error message is a bit misleading. The actual issue is that you aren't supposed to calculate the result yourself. You are meant to leave that to JavaScript. By actually assigning quantity * retailPrice
to the salesTotal
variable directly.
Like this:
var wholesalePrice = 5.45;
var retailPrice = 9.99;
var quantity = 47;
var salesTotal = quantity * retailPrice;
