Price with monthly views

If you don't have the analytics to show the popularity/number of visitors to a site in a given month, what would happen if you grossly underestimated the page views? Matt said the price for a font will go up with page views, but I'm wondering if there is any consequence to underestimating the number. I can't imagine what would stop someone from lying about the number in order to keep the price down.

Generally people are honest about website traffic. In case they are not there are several ways to check/estimate the size of the traffic. I assume the owner of the webfont could pursue legal action if someone is lying, but I've never heard about it happening. Usually they are very relaxed with re-negotiating license fees based on (higher or lower than expected) traffic numbers. The only times I've heard about website owners getting sued was when they were carelessly using a licensed font without paying for the license. And that happened only after the font owner sent them multiple warnings to either pay for it, or to remove the font.
