printing in except ValueError (python)

This is the code, I want my message to be on the screen when this error occur

try: place=abs(int(place)) except ValueError: print("The item will be added in the the begining of the list")
place=None if place is not None: shopping_list.insert(place-1,added_item) else:
shopping_list.append(added_item) show_list()

You might have an indentation issue. Try formatting your code so the spacing shows up.
