Printing individual string characters instead of individual array elements

Why is the below code writing individual string characters instead of individual array elements?

'''function printList(array_var){ var listHTML = '<ol>'; for(var i=0;i<array_var.length;i++){ listHTML += '<li>'+ array_var[i] + '</li>'; } listHTML += '</ol>'; } var name = ["John","Rita","Jack","Henry"]; printList(name);'''

Nevermind...name is a 'named constant', selecting a different variable name fixed it.

First write the code like this (more readable!!) (see "markdown Cheatsheet")

If you change name to "myName" i will work fine.

function printList(array_var) {
    var listHTML = '<ol>';
    for (var i = 0; i < array_var.length; i++) {
        listHTML += '<li>' + array_var[i] + '</li>';
    }
    listHTML += '</ol>';
        return listHTML;
}
var myName = ["John", "Rita", "Jack", "Henry"];
var myList = printList(myName );
alert (myList);
