    for n in names {
        if n == name {
            return n

Here's your code adding the else statement to display if the name is not found. The code may be expecting an else statement since "doc" is not in your array. Try capitalizing Doc when you call the function in your if statement first then if that doesn't work try adding the else statement to your if function. I could get it to work in a playground for me so I hope this works for you. Good luck!

func search(#name: String) ->String? {
    let names = ["Doc","Grumpy","Happy","Sleepy","Bashful","Sneezy","Dopey"]
    for n in names {
        if n == name {
            return n
        }
    }
    return nil
}

if let result = search(name: "doc"){
    println("found")
}
else {
    println("not found")}

Hi Marco,

You have a couple of minor problems, they are:

  1. You haven't started Doc with a capital D
  2. You haven't started Found with a capital F

That's it :smile:.

if let result = search(name: "Doc") {
  println("Found")
}

Happy coding!
