Programming a Background Image

I am not sure what I have done wrong. I deleted my background image only from my main.storyboard and went to viewcontroller.m and typed in: UIImage *backgroudImage= [UIImage imageNamed:@"backround"]; UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:backgroudImage]; [self.view insertSubview:imageView atIndex:0]; But my backround image does not show.

Could it be that your image is called 'background' and not 'backround' like you wrote? :) If that's not it, you should also specify an imageView frame.

UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:backgroudImage];
[imageView setFrame:self.view.bounds]
[self.view addSubview:imageView];
