I agree with Acie. You want to learn a new language because you want to have fun and it's comfortable for you to use when you need to not because you want to get a specific job. Programmers like myself and soon yourself will be sitting in front of a computer and coding away hours upon hours a day. You want to be programming in a code that makes you happy and gets your creative juices flowing. I say learn the languages that you want to learn and after if you want to learn more, go right on ahead. Just remember, there are tons of languages out there that suits a whole range of programmers; you don't have to learn all of them or learn all of them in a certain time frame, just the ones you think you'll need and the ones that you will enjoy programming in. I like PHP and C++; I wouldn't mind learning Perl, Ruby, or Python; and Java is on the bottom of my list because it doesn't appeal to me. You will be different so learn whatever you want, not what you think will make other people happy. Do what you want to do, man! I hope this helps.
Cheers!
