Properly following this (and possibly other) videos

Sometimes at the beginning of a video it is not obvious whether or not we need to be explicitly coding in stride with the lecture. There have been plenty of objectives that are self-sustaining. Could you please make this clear before the video starts?

Hey Casey,

I never code "in stride" with any of the videos. I find I don't learn this way, nor do I actually retain any of the information that is being taught while the code is being written, so I'm not sure what you mean by "make this clear before the video starts"?

Everyone studies and learns differently. Myself, and many others on Treehouse that have had this discussion before, watch the video (No coding at this point)... listen to the instruction of material and explanations of what is being done and why, then rewind and re-watch video now coding along with the instructor. This way you not only learn and know what you are doing, but also why. In my opinion, the "why" is the most important.

But like I said, everyone learns differently. I hope you find what works best for you :)
