Challenge Task 1 of 2

The orderQueue array contains a list of customer orders. Create a new variable named shipping -- remove the first item from the array and place it in the shipping variable.

Bummer! I don't see the .shift() method in your code. Try using the array .shift() method on the orderQueue array like this: orderQueue.shift().

what am i doing wrong?

script.js
var orderQueue = ['1XT567437','1U7857317','1I9222528'];
var shipping = [];

They don't need shipping to be an array, just a variable. To add the first item you only want to show it as part of the shipping variable.

var orderQueue = ['1XT567437','1U7857317','1I9222528'];

var shipping;

orderQueue.shift();

shipping = '1XT567437';

You are only making an array named shipping.

You have to do this

var orderQueue = ['1XT567437','1U7857317','1I9222528'];
var shipping = [orderQueue.shift()];

With the .shift() method you take the first element of the orderQueue array and put it into the shipping array.
