39,124 PointsPython Basics here.....What is wrong with this?
This works in the shell, but not on test......
list = [1,2,3]
def add_list(list): sum = 0 for item in list: sum = sum + item return sum
def summarize(list): sum = add_list(list) print("The sum of {} is {}.".format(list,sum))
# add_list([1, 2, 3]) should return 6
# summarize([1, 2, 3]) should return "The sum of [1, 2, 3] is 6."
# Note: both functions will only take *one* argument each.
list = [1,2,3]
def add_list(list):
sum = 0
for item in list:
sum = sum + item
return sum
def summarize(list):
sum = add_list(list)
print("The sum of {} is {}.".format(list,sum))

12,933 PointsTry changing the print statement in your summarize function to a return. Your code is fine the test is just looking for a return vs a print to the console.
