Question about courses/order for aspiring backend web developer?

Hi all, I'm Aaron and I recently decided that I was interested in web development and was fortunate enough to discover this awesome site! Based off my research I think the backend is more my style rather than the frontend/design side. (partial color-blindness makes color schemes frustrating to create :P) Anyway, I have completed the Digital Literacy track and started the Frontend Developer track, my question is: when is a good time to start learning more backend languages? I have completed the "How to Make a Website" course(loved it!) and I was wondering if I should just complete the next "CSS Basics" and "JavaScript Basics" courses in the track before going into something like PHP/Ruby, or if I should complete the entire Frontend Developer track before moving on.

All information and opinions are welcome and appreciated! Thanks!

Hey Aaron,

In my opinion, I would complete the entire Front-End Development Track before moving on to the Backend. The way I see it, coding the Back-End does still require at least a basic understanding of Front-End languages and how they work and will interact with the Back-End. That track will give you, again in my opinion, enough of a base to be able to more successfully complete and move forward with your Back-End studies. I personally feel that it will be worth it, and it will only benefit you in the future.

Keep Coding! :dizzy:

That makes a lot of sense! Thanks for the answer, I'm going to keep trucking on the frontend dev track!
