Question about which track to get into.

Hey everyone,

I'm currently stumped right now, because I don't know which track to go. My end goal is to be able to develop professional websites (simple to complex) and mobile apps (way down the road). I started out thinking that I would get into Wordpress, since it's popular and the backend ui is simple. However, I haven't heard many good things about PHP and since I already know javascript I would like to use node.js for dynamic builds. I know I can use node.js with wordpress, but is that just asking for trouble?

I'm currently building a simple business website for a friend, but my next project involves building an ecommerce site that is currently using a crappy WYSIWYG platform. I don't even know what to ask really - there are so many options. Any advice or suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.

I've not been here long but I would suggest using the Front-End Web Development course first which teaches html, css and javascript. Then add a back-end language track like PHP

I agree with Jonathan, the front end web development track will give you a solid foundation to build from. After that I would Look at ruby. Ruby is a great alternative to php for back end development, especially with ecommerce.
