6,204 PointsQuestions about web development/design
I'm going to start off by saying that I'm not looking for a job, I'm looking to learn so that I can create my own websites. This being said I would like to ask a few questions.
I don't really know much about web development or design. I would go through the web design track, but I don't think I want to pay for adobe suit.
How do you think I should proceed. Should I just go through all the html/css courses alone? Web, Frontend, PHP track first?
Would love some great feed back.
Thanks!!!

Don't worry about not having any of the Adobe Suite applications. I mean they are needed to complete the track fully but they aren't needed to learn the vital HTML and CSS that is taught in that course. The Adobe tools aren't needed anyway until the latter end of that track so you shouldn't worry about it. I don't have any Adobe software myself so I just avoided those specific bits of that track.
As for what you should learn it is vital that you start with HTML and CSS so that you see how a web page is structured and how to add custom styles to it. After that you should probably focus on Javascript to add some elements of interactivity to your page.

That's what the library feature in Treehouse is for, your a la carte learning experience.

13,564 PointsYou can! Just do the bits after it separately from the library view. This way you can still do the bits of the track you want without having to complete all the pieces before it.

15,661 PointsI use Sketch 3 instead of Illustrator/Photoshop. It's only about 80 bucks and is a great tool to start learning how to use a vector design software tool (it's not just a getting-started tool though, in my opinion it's way better than the Adobe software). But like others said above, you can just skip those Adobe-related courses.
