I am using windows command prompt with ruby and rails. I opened up treebook followed by the rails server. It stated that the "Rails .2. application starting development on http://0.0.0.0:3000" I copied and pasted into Google chrome and it says the webpage is not available. Any thoughts?

Treehouse Guest Teacherlocalhost:3000 or 127.0.0.1:3000 should work.
0.0.0.0:3000 is the computer's way of saying it's listening on every available address (in the case it has multiple IP addresses). 0.0.0.0 will work on some systems for dialing your own computer, but more reliably the 127.0.0.1 will always loopback to your computer, and localhost should also.

Currently there is currently a teacher's note on this very issue:
> Attention Windows Users
> You should access port 3000 with the following address 127.0.0.1:3000 rather than 0.0.0.0:3000.

2,791 PointsIf using localhost:3000 doesn't work, try the following: http://127.0.0.1:3000
I believe this is the IP you use to access the rails server on Windows.

6,626 PointsI had the same problem with jason tran. i think many others would have the same problem. therefore I think it would be helpful if the moderator (james barnett) or jim hoskins can edit the video (https://teamtreehouse.com/library/programming/build-a-simple-ruby-on-rails-application/getting-started-with-rails/generate-a-rails-application) or at the end put the following alternative way of finding the IP address. even if its a text comment at the end of the video. it will save alot of learners time by not googling or finding this forums answer. thanks
