Hello, I read on the sstephenson Github repository that MacOS X users must remove all RVM files and components before installing rbenv. I use RVM for other projects. Do I have to install rbenv? Any ideas on using both or if I can just keep RVM? I'm just beginning at this, so I apologize for my ignorance and thank you for you help in advance.
Sincerely, Eric

Treehouse Guest TeacherHey Eric Jefcoat you can use RVM with Treehouse :) It doesn't matter what you use as long as you have a working Ruby installation. You may have to look up the equivalent commands between rvm and rbenv, though.

2,946 PointsThank you for your help, Jason. I have to confess that I really don't even understand what rvm/rbenv do, so it really doesn't matter to me. I just have rvm installed already because of a Skillshare RoR in 30 Days class.
I have searched for rvm and rbenv equivalent commands and have struck out on stuff that would help me understand when "Treehouse says this for rbenv, you do this for rvm". Any ideas how I get that help?
Thank you for your help. Treehouse rocks! I'm a teacher, looking to change it up a bit and do something a little different and I love your site. It is put together with a lot of thought and expertise!! The tutorials have been very good so far!
Thanks again, Eric

Treehouse Guest TeacherIf you're not sure what they all do, I'd recommend following the "Installing a Ruby Development Environment" mini course. This will get you following along with commands they way that they are in the courses. I'd only recommend deviating and using rvm if you already know and are familiar with rvm and the like.
