Re: License of Team Treehouse Project Code - Can I use Github Public Repos?

I have a simple question for the Team Treehouse admins which may also be useful to others:

I am accustomed to using github to backup my code at different stages for the obvious reasons.

Is it okay to do this when I am working on a Team Treehouse project? (Specifically, iOS track). This exposes the code to the public since I am not a paying member of github.

I am not clear on what the license for use of project source code is and I certainly do not want to violate anything because I am really enjoying the service!

Thanks, Michael

That's what bitbucket is for.

Bitbucket has unlimited private git repositories for free, backup to your heart's content.

Treehouse are very good as far as using there code and also any other files such as images etc, your okay to use them in your own projects that are totally separate from Treehouse without any licensing issues. Backing up to Github even if your code is on view to the public is fine.

To add to Wayne's reply, just like any open source work, you should credit your source and not take credit for any developer/artist's work.

Good point Cuckoo.
