Removing items from an array

I can't tell what I'm doing wrong.

EDIT: My friend helped me figure it out, so I'm all set now.

var orderQueue = ['1XT567437','1U7857317','1I9222528'];
// remove front array
var shipping = orderQueue.shift();
// remove last array
var cancelled = orderQueue.pop();

The reason why the removed array is stored in variable is because we might need to access them in future for something.
