For the iOS courses, do I need an apple OS - hence an apple computer since I am scared of the VM solution as I am running on a new Windows 8.1? Thanks,-Marc

you will need a mac. There are some alternatives such as Macincloud.com that let you "rent" a mac etc, but your best bet in the long run would be to get a mac. The mac mini's are very affordable and good machines if you are looking at getting a mac.

Thanks - so $600 for the box plus the monitor plus external devices plus tax....I guess that's cheap for a mac, but after doing new a Windows box, my budget is already overdone. I have re-think this and probably look for contract work elsewhere....

but you should already have a monitor mouse and keyboard, so you just need the machine.

If not, you should look into the android courses. There arent many right now but it would be a good start if you want to get into app development

Thanks - I already went through the android courses which were great and I guess I can work on that some more on my own since I am not acquainted with all that is in the android APIs. Thanks again.

have you made your own app yet? If you feel comfortable with what youve done following along in the videos I would advise you to start your own project. It also doesnt hurt to watch the videos and do the projects more than once.

Yes - two apps actually based on an previous directive that was Java based but straight forward. I was hoping to move them to iOS but that have to be down the road. Thanks again
