Return a cell related to another cell.

Hello, I'm drawing a blank on how to accomplish this task. The question is asking me to find the year where the most Steelhead fish passed through the dam. I know how to find the MAX number in a column, but how do I return the year at which it happened and not the number of fish? So, I basically need to return the value of one cell based on the value of another . I'm thinking I need to use the CHOOSE function, but I'm not too sure how to implement it. Any help would be great! Should I just use a filter? Is there a way to do it with a formula?

You could write a formula for this as a personal challenge, but all you need for the quiz is the answer.

So another approach would be to sort based on the quantity and then just read the year from the top line. :wink:
