Rspec proTip

When running the rspecs such as bin/rspec spec/features/todo_lists/create_spec.rb I like to tag on a couple options.

I use bin/rspec spec/features/todo_lists/create_spec.rb -f d instead. The -f formats the rspec in a more humanly readable format. the 'd' tells the format to use documentation. Using this, it's easier (for me at least) to see where issues are. For instance, I was served with this:

Unable to find link "New Todo List"

The link I was looking for had a lowercase 'l' instead of the capitalized 'L'. Using the -f d options made this much easier for me to find the issue and move on.

To add to this, you can also add a file underneath the "app" directory titled ".rspec" In that file the entire contents of the file would be:

--color
--format doc

This will always your rspec runs to use the --color and --format doc options.
