Ruby

Ruby On Rails - What next, where can I learn more?

After we have completed the ruby course and we have our web app up and running, where is the best place to learn more and find good gems etc?

I want to add more functionality like a messaging system and a better easier way to update status' can anyone point me in the direction of more courses or something along those lines?

Thanks :)

@Jack -

  1. Build a Simple Ruby on Rails Application
  2. Ruby Foundations
  3. Building Social Features in Ruby on Rails

Once you've finished all of those you might want to check out the Ruby path over at codeschool

Above steps are completed, my question was more based at what I can do after the project.

Thanks for the link to codeschool, I have used them in the past for HTML5+CSS3. Really enjoyed their stuff.

Busy few months ahead of me it would seem :).

Thanks again!

@Lee - Code School is actually produced by Envy Labs.

If I recall correctly, Envy Labs made both of those courses independently of each other and then decided that the online learning space was kinda cool and decided to expand their offerings and launch the Code School product.

They've recently organized their content into Paths which include the for Zombies series, Try Ruby as well as other Ruby related content from Code School
