9,809 PointsIf you don't have ruby or rails installed yet, I suggest you use http://railsinstaller.org/en and this will install everything you need to get going.
When you install Sublime it will create it's own directory for Sublime but you should create a folder (perhaps in My Documents) to store the code for the different projects that you will work on.

Courses Plus Student 9,636 PointsThanks for the info but I think I'm still lost a bit. I made a folder called applications and dragged sublime into it. so I'm trying to make a directory called Project to follow the course (mkdir [Project] )is this what it sould look like or am I doing something wrong. also when I use command prompt with ruby and rails should it show up in my applications folder ?
Thanks for you help its appreciated.

9,809 PointsSublime can stay in whatever directory you installed it to. You don't need to put Sublime in any special folder once it is installed and I'm assuming that you have installed Sublime and that you haven't just downloaded it and dragged the install file to the applications folder that you created, that will not work, you need to double click on the file you downloaded to install.
The Project direct is where you are going to store your data files that you create with Sublime. mkdir Project is the correct command to create it, just pay attention to what your current path is where you are making that directory so you can remember where it is.
The command prompt will not be in your applications folder. Read here to see how to open command prompt http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/947-command-prompt.html

I think I'm not understanding the pathway or how to get the directory into sublime I'm trying to do the Facebook project. I know its something small and stupid that I'm missing so I created a Applications folder. do I send a project directory to that folder ? and if so how that's want I think I'm missing or miss understood something. I hope I'm not confusing you because it is me

9,809 PointsSo inside your Applications folder you will store all the different projects you will be working on. From command prompt navigate to your Applications folder and run 'rails new treebook' and this will create a rails project called treebook. Run 'cd treebook' and then 'ls' and you will see all the files that were created.
Now open Sublime (I'm on a Mac so the menu item may be different for you), go to 'Project -> Add folder to project' and find your treebook folder and add it to the project and then save it. You will now have easy access to the treebook project whenever you use Sublime. If you don't create a project in Sublime you would have to open each file you are working on manually which would become tedious very quickly.
