Courses Plus Student 1,488 PointsSaving data on the smartphone instead of fetching it from the Internet everytime.
Hey Guys, I have just completed the blog post application on android and wanted to take it a step further.
Usually, when the application loads, it fetches information from the Internet. Is there any way that I can store this day on the app (on the smartphone) itself so that I dont have to use the internet everytime.
The blog is a dynamic site so its fine to download data all the time. But downloading all data from the internet for a static (or rarely changing) website does not seem like a great idea to me.
Any thoughts on this?
Cheers Sid

Courses Plus Student 6,573 PointsAndroid comes with a built in database called SQLite. This database can allow you to save and retrieve information for your applications. The SQLOpenHelper is one of the main classes you would use to interact with the SQLite database. Here is an excellent tutorial on using SQLite on Android.
