6,364 PointsSet the duration of your animation to 5 seconds /Help
I am on the 3rd part of the task and it is asking me to create the duration for the animation. Here is what I have;
"self.imageView.animationDuration = 5.0;"
Could someone help me figure out what I am doing wrong?

Treehouse Guest TeacherYour first answer is right except that you should not specify self which is used only if imageView were a property, which it isn't. It is simply an instance variable.
imageView.animationDuration = 5.0;

6,364 PointsI've also tried:
"[UIView setAnimationDuration: 5.0];"

3,535 PointsI have attempted both "self.imageView.animationDuration = 5.0; " & "imageView.animationDuration = 5.0" and neither seem to work... get an error that says : You need to set the property of the duration of your animation on the 'imageView'.

Treehouse Guest TeacherCan you paste your entire code?

3,535 PointsCame back and tried the code challenge again and had success. I'm assuming it was a minor spelling error I overlooked. Thanks for your help though Amit!

26,287 PointsHey Amit,
I too am stuck on part 2 of this code challenge,
Here is what I have
**THViewController.m
#import "THViewController.h"
@implementation THViewController
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
// backgroundImage is a local variable
UIImage *backgroundImage = [UIImage imageNamed:@"background"];
// imageView is a property
self.imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:backgroundImage];
// Add your code below!
// Remember 'imageView' is a property
// so refer to it as 'self.imageView'
self.imageView.animationImages = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects: [UIImage imageNamed:@"01.png"], [UIImage imageNamed:@"02.png"], [UIImage imageNamed:@"03.png"], nil];
[imageView.animationDuration = 5.0];
}
@end
I've been stuck on this for a couple of hours now and it's killing me,
Any additional help on this would be great,
Stu :)

Treehouse Guest TeacherEverything is right except the last line. You unless you are calling a method you don't need to use the box brackets. You also need to use self because imageView is a property. So your last line should look like:
self.imageView.animationDuration = 5.0;
PS. Leave a line before and after the backtics ``` so that the code formatting can show

26,287 PointsHey Amit Bijlani,
You are an absolute champ (like usual), I re-looked over the code and what you suggested and it has finally sunken in.
Also thanks for the tip on the code formatting ;)
Many thanks
Stu :)
