Sets Regex....

What exactly is the -\w doing in the character set r'[-\w\d+.]+@[-\w\d.]+??? Did I miss something?

The characters -\w are specifying two items to match in that character set. The "-" is simply matching the minus sign. The "\w" matches any alphanumeric character and the underscore; this is equivalent to the set [a-zA-Z0-9_].
