Should I be concerned by the lack of jobs as ruby developer?

I live in Miami Florida and most companies are using WordPress, JavaScript, Python, PHP, C#, and Java. I looked at different job sites and freelance sites and there aren't that many jobs in Ruby and if there is then most likely it has to do with rails.

Is it best for a new developer who is learning ruby to have more of a entrepreneur mindset rather then looking for a job?

What do you think?

Hi, If you love Ruby, continue doing it and don't be concerned. It's all about demand vs supply. As there aren't many jobs, there also aren't many Ruby programmers to fill the few spots available. However, I think it's safe to say that adding rails to your skill set will be a wise choice. Having an entrepreneur mindset is good regardless of what programming language you learn. Finally, if you can nail down Ruby, you'll probably be able to easily learn Java, C# and especially PHP.
