Should I follow the front-end web development track courses in order?

Hello,

I want to follow the front-end web track but I want to do the html and css courses first, I noticed that the track has it's own order. I feel like I would be more comfortable with doing html and css first and having a very good understanding of html and css before moving on to javascript.

Does it really matter if I did then in my own preferential order? or is it more advisable to follow the track courses in the particular order already set out?

Sorry for such a silly question, I just want to maximize my learning and to see what would be the best way :)

Even i have the same silly question lol..

And I thought the same thing and started learning html css first..

So even I have the same question, should I continue learning html css first or follow the specific path?

My personal opinion is that you should do it in the order you feel works the best for you :-) If you prefer learning the html and css before JS then go for it, because not every people are learning the same way :-)

Jade Luttman, Tushar Singh. Yes I strongly suggest to follow the track ! I had the same question to my mentor and he said to follow it (Thank god i listened to him), later on I realised that, everything is build meaningful and everything has sense in time just follow the track and you'll get alot of things:). Hope that helps!!:) Cheers Viktor!

I would go follow teamtreehouse's order. It builds up upon one another.

The alternative route is web design, which is more art based or design. You'll learn how to make logos use photoshop and illustrator.

Tracks are designed to be a linear progression, with skills learned early built on and expanded. Jumping around in the track could lead to gaps in knowledge, so something may seem to have occurred without explanation, but really it may have been taught earlier in the track. However, between languages themselves, it's up to you. I personally liked the Web Design track because it progress from the structure of a site (HTML) to the look of it (CSS), and then explores some design tools. But if you wanted to learn JS before HTML, you certainly could.

I'm still following the track in order just without the JavaScript for now :)

I did take a look at the web design track perhaps that might be a better option for now.

I do have plans to learn JavaScript but I feel like I want to focus a little more on html and css a bit more first.
